Champions are not born; they are made. They developed themselves by working very hard to achieve their dreams.
Why champions win?
Champions win because they think like champions. They think like winners, not like losers.
Peter McWilliams said, “Our thoughts create our reality- where we put our focus is the direction we tend to go.”
Champions don’t quit because they are tired. They quit because they have succeeded. In the words of Billie Jean King, “Champions keep playing until they got it right.” Losers quit because they got it wrong. Winners quit because they got it right. If you want to win, don’t quit because you are tired, or because you got it wrong. Quit because you got it right, and that you are ready to take on the next assignment.
Champions always win because they are bold. They are courageous. They are fearless. They are not afraid to make mistakes. In fact, they love making mistakes.
Billie Jean King said, “Be bold. If you are going to make an error, make a doozy, and don’t be afraid to hit the ball.” If you want to win, don’t be afraid to try. Don’t be afraid to take risks. Risk is a part of the game of life. Risk is a part of the game of winning. If you don’t take risk, how are you going to win? No risk, no win.
Champions win because they are self-aware. They know themselves. They know what they can and cannot do. They know their strengths and weaknesses. They know that it takes discipline to be a champion. They know that it doesn’t take overnight to be a champion. To quote Billie Jean King, “I think self-awareness is probably the most important thing towards being a champion.” When you know yourself, you know others.
How do you invite something new into your life? Good question, right?
We all need something new in our lives. We need to renew our minds every day. If you want something great, you have to think about great things. If you want to be great in life, you have to do great things. You cannot be great if you keep doing small things. You can only be great if you do small things in great ways. You cannot be great if you keep thinking small thinking. You cannot be great if you spend your time doing urgent things, instead of doing important things.
If you want new things, you have to stop doing old things. As Peter Drucker put it, “If you want something new, you have to stop doing something old.” If you want to be creative, you have to stop doing old things. You have to start doing new things. You have to start experimenting with strange things. You have to get out of your comfort zone. You have to start breathing in new oxygen into your life.
If you want something new, stop doing the old, unproductive things.
One of the reasons we live is to be our own master, is to control our lives, is to take charge of our lives. Taking control of our lives does not come easy in a society where everybody wants a piece of you. Everyone wants something from you. The question is: “Can you please everyone?”
“If you want to imitate anyone, imitate yourself.”
No, you can’t. That is if you are really honest with yourself. You cannot please everyone. If you try to do it, you will never have time for yourself. It is okay to listen to people, but don’t try to please everyone. If you do, you will fail.
“You deserve a better life. You deserve to live your life in your own way. You deserve to have a healthy life. But if you put everyone’s interests before yours, you will find it difficult to live a good life.”
In the words of Marva Collins, “Trust yourself, think for yourself, act for yourself, speak for yourself, be yourself, imitation is suicide.” He is absolutely right. If you want to live your life in your own way, you MUST trust yourself. You must think for yourself. You must act for yourself. You must speak for yourself. You must be yourself. You MUST NEVER IMITATE ANYONE. If you want to imitate anyone, imitate yourself.
