“Act happy, feel happy, be happy, without a reason in the world.”- Dan Millman
Can we do that? Can we really live and be happy in the world without a single reason? For some, it is possible. For others, it is not possible. But why?
Our happiness is our business. Some people are not happiness because they don’t know how to make themselves happy. They don’t know where to find happiness. They are looking at the wrong places for happiness. They think that nice homes can make them happy. They are dead wrong. My friends, happiness is in you, not outside of you. If you look for happiness within you, you will find it.
We can find happiness when we are our real selves. When we pretend to be who we are not, our happiness, our values are compromised. We have gone against our values. And we can’t find happiness when our values and our happiness are not living happily. In order to find real, true happiness, we must connect with our values. We must connect with our real selves. We must not fake our lives. We must live our real and authentic lives.
When we are happy with ourselves, we can accomplish anything. But when we are not happy with ourselves, we can’t do anything of value. Happiness brings energy. When we are happy, we have more energy to do things. But when are sad, not happy, angry, we won’t be able to live our lives. We won’t be able to do normal things, things that will bring happiness to us, to our families, to our friends.
Happiness does not come from external sources or events. Happiness comes from inner or internal sources or events. For instance, we have more fine things- fine cars, fine homes, but many of us are not happy. Why? Because material possessions can’t make you happy. Because REAL happiness does not depend on material possessions.
Don’t get me wrong. I am not saying that material things are not good. They are. What I am saying is, material things cannot bring happiness to us. They are good things to have, but they can’t make you better. They make you feel good when you have them. They make you feel terrible when they are gone. Happiness is not a come and go thing. It is a permanent thing. Don’t attach your happiness to any material things. You must attach your happiness to yourself- YOUR INNER SELF.
True happiness is within your reach. But you can’t find it if you are not true to yourself. Shakespeare said, “To thyself be true.” Look within you to find your happiness. It is free. It does not cost you anything. To be happy, just choose happiness. Choose happy thoughts. Stay away from negative thoughts. Stay away from negative people. Respect yourself as you are. Do not compare yourself to anyone. You are you. You are unique. You are different. Love yourself for who you are, not what you have. Don’t let what you have control your happiness. Be happy!
To find happiness is to choose happiness. Today, tell yourself, “I will focus on what will make me happy.” Why is that? Because your thoughts control your feelings. If you can control your thoughts, you can control your actions. If you cannot control your thoughts, you cannot control anything, not even your life.
Be careful what you think about because it will come to you.
