People are not doing what they were created to do because they don’t want to make mistakes. They don’t want to be seen as incompetent or incapable people. Mistakes mean different things to different people. Is a mistake really a curse or a blessing?

People don’t learn, grow, and expand, because they are scared of making embarrassing mistakes. If you want to discover new things, if you want to change the status quo, if you want to experiment, if you want to grow, if you want to do what no one has tried, if you want to be different, if you want to do great things, you must embrace mistakes. The art of making mistakes is not a curse, but a blessing. It is a blessing, not a curse.

The art of making mistakes is best thing that has ever happened any of us. If you embrace mistakes, you will have the courage to do new things. You will have the courage to learn, unlearn, and relearn.

People who are doing well in their various careers are those who love to play with making mistakes. They love making mistakes. They know with mistakes come new ways of doing things- new ways of thinking, new ways of solving problems, and new ways of looking at new things.

If you love growth, if you want to reach the top of your career, you MUST embrace the art of making mistakes. If you want to learn, expect to make mistakes. It is okay. If you are not making mistakes, you are not learning. You are probably playing it too safe. Learn how to make mistakes. If you want to, start with the small ones, the ones that will not cost you and your organization a fortune.

Embrace the art of making mistakes, and you will continue to grow.

Work Gives Satisfaction

Anne Frank said, “Laziness may appear attractive, but work gives satisfaction.” Yes, laziness is attractive. The real question is: “How long?” As human beings, we are created to move around, not be incarcerated. But lots of people are living in a self-designed jail, because they don’t want to take risks.

The purpose of working is not only to make a living, but to develop yourself- your body, your mind, and your soul. A busy mind is a productive mind. A working mind is an active mind. An active mind is a creative mind. Yes, we work to earn a living, but it is more than that.

Think of what you get from your workplace, if you are lucky to be working for a great boss or manager: you meet great people, you exchange knowledge, you increase your social capital, and you expand your horizon. But when you are not doing anything, you are not helping yourself, but hurting yourself. You are hurting yourself because human beings are social animals. We are always in motion. If you are not in motion, then you are motionless. If you are not moving, you are dying. If you are not moving, you are wasting.

If you want to do something to better your life and you don’t know how to go about it, reach out to the people you know who can help you. Tell them what you want to do NOW. It is not going to be easy. Taking the first step is not always easy. Doing something for the first time is not always easy, but you can do it. Is it going to be scary? Yes, but you can do it.

Think of anything that is stopping you from being your REAL self. If you know it, change it. If you have been hanging out with people who are not supportive of your plans, it is time to say goodbye to them. They are not helping you; they are hurting you. if you keep them, then you are hurting yourself. It is your choice.
