People need light to see, to move forward, to be who they want to be. They don’t want darkness anymore. They need to move forward. They want to be happy. They want to grow. But without light, strong light, they can’t grow. They can’t go anywhere.
We can be the light in people’s lives. Giving light to people means giving them opportunities to grow, to become who they want to become, to pursue their dreams, to explore, to make mistakes, to experiment. People want to do great things, but they find them difficult to do. There is no money. There is no support. There is no mentor to mentor them to greatness. There is no encouragement, only discouragement. You can change that.
You can change the world by first changing yourself. You can help people discover their real potential. You can help people get out of their comfort zones. You can help find the way to greatness. You can help people succeed by giving them light. That is, by giving them opportunities to chase their dreams.
According to Desiderius Erasmus, said, “Give light, and the darkness will disappear of itself.” He is right. Give light, the darkness in their lives will go. Give them opportunities, poverty will go. Give them education, illiteracy will go away. Remember, when you give light, you will receive light. When you give darkness, curse, you will get darkness back.
Everything in life starts with a dream. It does not matter what you are trying to achieve in life; it starts with a dream. A dream is not just a dream, it is a way forward. It is your OWN plan. It represents hope. It gives you energy to push through anything that is standing in your way to success.
When you have a dream, when you have a plan, pursue it with all that you have left in your reservoir. Don’t let your dream slip away. If you let it go, you will never find it again. Embrace your dream. Don’t let negative people destroy your dream. Believe in your dream. Live your dream. Talk about your dream. Practice your dream. Because your dream is important to you. Don’t let people tell you your dream is impossible. Believe in your dream, and go find it.
According to Harvey Mackay, “When you have a dream that you can’t let go of, trust your instincts and pursue it. But remember: Real dreams take work; they take patience, and sometimes they require you to dig down very deep. Be sure you are willing to do that.”
If you want your dream to come true, you MUST act on it. If you don’t work on your dream, it will die a dream. Don’t let your dream scare you. Look your dream in the eye and work on it.
Do one thing on a daily basis that will take you closer to your dream. If you do that, you are closer to your dream than you ever imagined.
When you are answering this question, don’t lie. Be honest with yourself. Ask yourself: “Am I hurting or helping…?”
Hard, right? Yeah!
It is easy to answer if you have been doing your best to live your values. You will know whether you are helping or hurting people by the way they treat you. The way they respond to you when you need them. The way they talk about you when you are not there. The way they go the extra mile to get things done for you. The way they feel when you make a mistake. These are some of the ways to know whether you are an asset or a liability.
You are helping when you do this:
“Thank you for reaching out.”
You are helping when you reach out to other people. You are helping when you make other people important. You are helping when you give other people hope. You are helping when you help other people succeed. You are helping when you help other people find who they are. You are helping when you show people the way. You are helping. Keep helping!
You are hurting when you do this:
“Stop doing this. You are hurting yourself and others!”
You are hurting people when you yell at them. You are hurting people when you cannot share your love with them. You are hurting people when you belittle them. You are hurting people when you bully them. You are hurting people when you can’t even recognize the good work they are doing. You are hurting people when you take credit for the work done by other people. You are hurting people when you pay no attention to their growth and development. You are hurting them. Stop doing it, and start helping.
It is either you are helping or hurting people. There is no other way to look at it.
In moving forward, I strongly recommend that you help people, instead of hurting them. When you help other people, you are helping yourself. When you hurt other people, believe it or not, you are hurting yourself.
