People Are Not Successful Because They Keep Doing This One Thing: “They Give Up Too Fast.”
By E. Bright
We all want to be successful. What is stopping us from achieving our goals? What is standing in our way?
Success does not come to those that dream. It goes to those that dream and do the hard work involved to be successful. To be successful in anything that you want to achieve in your life, it is important for you to dream, to plan, and to go for what you want with all your energy. Do not let people talk you out of your dream. Don’t get distracted by the noise around you. Do not allow the circumstances around you to stop you from achieving success. Do not let your own laziness take your dreams from you. Yes, we are lazy animals.
Success is not without difficulties. Success comes to people who have successfully conquered all the obstacles that were standing in their way. Success is behind the fence. In order to be successful, you must cross the fence to the other side where you will find success waiting for you. Do you want to do that? Do you want to jump the fence? Do you want to do the difficult things? Or, do you want to keep doing what hadn’t been working for you?
The question is, “Why are some people so successful and others not so much?”
The successful ones push forward. They never, never, never give up. They understand what it takes to be successful. They study their subject very well. They ask critical questions about their chosen field. They seek advice from mentors. They don’t claim to be an expert in their fields. They are committed to learning things that will help them achieve their dreams.
As Earl Nightingale once said, “Never give up on a dream just because of the time it will take to accomplish it. The time will pass anyway.” I will go a step further: “If you pursue your dream today, you will turn 50 tomorrow. If you chose not to do anything, you will still turn 50 anyway.”
This quote leads us to another critical reason why people are unsuccessful in life. They always say, “I am too old to do this or too old to do that.” Your biological age is not the reason you shouldn’t do something to change your life; it is your thought that is holding you back.
If you change your thinking, your life will change. As James Allen has said, “A man can only rise, conquer, and achieve by lifting up his thoughts. He can remain weak, and object, and miserable by refusing to lift up his thoughts” He continued, “he who would accomplish little must sacrifice little; he who would achieve much must sacrifice much; he who would attain highly must sacrifice greatly.”
Well said. If you want to achieve small things, you do not need to work very hard, a little will be okay for you. Do you want to be in this group? If you want to achieve much in life, you must do much to get it done. Success comes with a significant price to pay. Are you ready and willing to pay that price
If you want to achieve big things in your life, you must be ready to work very hard and smart. Hard work is not enough, it must be smart work, too. You must be willing and ready to do what others are ignoring. You must be willing and ready to be vulnerable. You must be willing and ready to get out of your bubble. You must be willing and ready to be criticized. When you are ready, the world is ready to help you succeed.
Finally, there is nothing you cannot achieve in life if you are ready, willing, and committed to making it happen. You can do anything if you want to succeed. I will sum this article up with a quote fromGeorge Whitefield. He said, “Press forward. Do not stop, do not linger in your journey, but strive for the mark set before you.”
