How To Accept Negative Feelings

Why do we accept positive feelings, and always reject negative feelings? Negative and positive feelings are part of who we are. They are part of our biology.

Why are we always rejecting negative feelings? Are we helping or hurting ourselves for not accepting negative feelings?

As human beings, we like to stick to things that make us feel good. We often ignore things that make us feel uncomfortable. We always focus on positive feelings, and ignore negative feelings. We should give equal attention to both (positive and negative feelings). They are important for our survival. They direct us to where something is happening in our body, in our environment, and in our society. We should listen to negative feelings, instead of ignoring them.

If you choose not to listen to your feelings, you are closing the door to an opportunity to learn more about yourself. If you listen to your feelings, if you explore your feelings, you will learn more about yourself. William James, the world renowned psychologist, said, “Observing our own feelings can tell us much about our own life.” You cannot separate how you feel inside from how you feel outside. They are one and the same. What you feel outside is a reflection of what you are feeling inside.

Why should we listen to negative feelings?

They are signalling you to make a change in your life. When you are feeling bad about something-it doesn’t matter what it is, all you need to do is to make a change. If you ignore your feelings, your pain will intensify. So when you feel terrible about something, don’t resist it. Plan for a change. It is not going to happen overnight. Change is a process. Change is a marathon, not a sprint. In order to do this, you must be ready to change your existing approach to life.

Embrace your feelings.

Whenever you feel bad about yourself, don’t ignore your feelings. It is a great opportunity for you to explore it and learn from it. Don’t run away from your bad feelings. Treat them as you would do to positive feelings. Take constructive actions to manage your negative feelings. Know what you are feeling. Know how you are feeling. Understand what you are feeling.

Our feelings are important to us. We should listen and explore our positive and negative feelings to learn more about ourselves.

Do you have a life purpose? What are you doing here on earth? What is your mission on earth? Why do you exist? What are you doing on a daily basis?

Your answers to those questions are the reasons you exist. If you don’t have an answer to any of the above questions, here is what a life purpose looks like:

Your life purpose is the reason you wake up every morning. The reason you exist. The reason you do what you do.

Why is it that lots of people  don’t know what they are  pursuing?

They are doing what people ask them to do. If you allow people to make decisions for you, then you are not in control of your life. You belong to somebody. Whoever makes decisions for you owns you. If you want to achieve your purpose in life, you should be the owner of your decisions.

They don’t do what they are destined to do. It does not matter how long you stay in another person’s lane, you will be disqualified. You cannot be successful, you cannot reach your goals, you cannot pursue your dreams when you are in someone else’s lane. Return to your lane, and you will be successful. It is never too late to start again.

They listen to excuses. The world is dominated with people who are ready to keep you in their dark cycle. They are not doing anything to better their lives. As a result, they will do anything to keep you from moving forward. Stay away from these people. If you stay with them, you will be like them.

James Allen said, “To put way aimlessness and weakness, and to begin to think with purpose, is to enter the ranks of those strong ones who only recognize failure as one of the pathways to attainment; to make all conditions serve them, and who think strongly, attempt fearlessly, and accomplish masterfully.”

According to James Allen, you cannot accomplish anything great if your associations are small-minded thinkers. You will accomplish and live a happy life when you eat, drink, and learn from big-thinkers.

They are afraid of change. Life is not rigid. Life is not fixed. If what you have been doing is not working, you need to change. But for people that don’t know their purpose in life, they prefer to stick to the same thing that never produces anything. If you want to grow, you need to change.

They are scared to fail. Failure is part of life. There is no success without failure. If you want to reach your goals, if you want to be successful, you need to embrace failure. Failure is not a crime, it is a blessing. In failure there are lots of opportunities.

They focus on external distractions. If you want to be successful, you need to focus on what matters. Don’t get distracted by external forces. Pursue your purpose with all your might.

So, where does life purpose come from?

It comes from the inside of you. It is internal. It is personal. It comes from helping the vulnerable people. It comes from ignoring external forces. It comes from being original. It comes from the dedication to your work.

Importance of life purpose

It makes you relevant. You feel special when you know what you are doing in life.

It helps you go through difficult times. When the going gets tougher, the only thing that propels us through is our purpose in life. If you don’t have a firm purpose in life, it is easy to give up.

It strengthens your sense of worth. A sincere commitment to our purpose in life strengthens us. It increases our self-esteem and self-worth.

It helps you master your skills. When you commit yourself to your purpose, you will do whatever it takes to master the skills needed to succeed.

When people lack purpose in life, it leads to confusion. It creates anxiety and frustration. People feel empty. People feel unfulfilled. It leads to unhappiness. Dalai Lama said, “The purpose of our lives is to be happy.” Socrates said, “An unexamined life is not worth living.”

Here are some strategies to help you develop your purpose in life:

Aim high in life. Design your own life. Be active. Accept mistakes. Accept failures. Love what you do. Be who you are. Engage yourself. Be an open-minded person. Embrace change.

If you want to succeed in life, you need to have a clear purpose in life. If not, you are just wandering around pursuing nothing. I hope you are not wasting your time.
