What are you doing with your time? Where are you spending your time? With whom are you spending your time? How are you spending your time? What are you spending your time on?

These are important questions, right?

Let’s look at what experts have said about time management:

Charles Darwin once said, “A man who dares to waste one hour of time has not discovered the value of life.” From Charles Darwin’s quote, you cannot live a productive life without managing your time well. Your time is your life.

According to Michel Eyquem de Montaugne, “The value of life lies not in the length of days, but in the use we make of them, a man may live long yet live very little.” It is not how long you live on earth that matters, it is not how long you spent doing something that matters, it is not how long you spent in a relationship that matters, it is not how long you study that matters, it is not how young or old you are that matters, it is not how beautiful you are that matters, it is not how tall you are that matters, it is not how many degrees you have that matters, it is not where you live that matters, it is not who your parents are that matters, it is how you use your time that will make ALL the difference.

Your time is valuable, use it wisely. You only have now to make a difference in your life. People always say, “I don’t have time.” That is not true. You have time if you want to create the time. Check how you use your time, and figure where to cut back. For sure, sometimes we do too much at the same time. For example, when you want to meet your friends or co-workers for a glass of beer, what do you do? You plan it, right? So use the same strategy to do other important things in your life. The results will shock you. Make time for good things to happen in your life. If you don’t make it, nobody will. You are your master.

We have enough time to get stuff done. The problem is lots of people spend their God given time on earth doing some useless things that are not getting them anywhere. If you value your life, according to the above quotes, spend your time well. Don’t spend your time on things that are reducing your growth. For example, if you have a project to work on, instead of watching TV, why not do the right thing first, then later you can watch your favorite TV program? This is stress management and time management in one line.

How you spend your time is a reflection of your priorities. If you value great and positive relationships, spend time with great minds. Don’t spend time with negative people. They will pull you down. They will take your dreams away. Be careful! If you value your family, spend QUALITY time with them. If you value knowledge, spend time to read. Read indiscriminately. If you value people, go out there and make people happy. If you want to grow, spend your time on what will take you to the next level. Time is valuable, don’t waste it.

Leo Babauta, in his book, Zen Habits: Mastering the Art of Change, Seneca said, “Putting off is the biggest waste of life: it snatches away each day as it comes, and denies us the present by promising the future… The whole future lies in uncertainty: live immediately.”

If you want to be successful, DON’T spend your time with people who belittle you. Don’t spend your time with talkers. Don’t spend your time with procrastinators. If you spend your time with these people, gradually you will start to think and behave like them. People learn a lot by observation. You become what you feed your brain.

All Together:

Your success will depend on how well you use your time. You reap what you sow. Use your time wisely.

Anger

Lioness Roaring

“Anger will never disappear so long as thoughts of resentment are cherished in the mind. Anger will disappear just as soon as thoughts of resentment are forgotten.”- John Dryden, poet

The purpose of anger is to let people know how you are feeling about certain things. You want people to know what is troubling you.

It is okay to vent your anger. You can vent your anger in a productive way. If you feel terrible, try these strategies:

Calm down. Think how it will affect your life.

Understand your anger. Know what makes you angry. Know the anger you are feeling.

The best way to control yourself is to forgive those who hurt you. I know it sound terrible to forgive those who hurt you, it is doable. It is the best thing you can do for yourself. When you forgive people, you will feel more relaxed, and your blood pressure and heart rate will drop. Forgiveness is good for your health. Resentment does the opposite to your health- destroys it.

If you keep thoughts of resentment in your mind, you are hurting yourself. Your mind need to be kept clean from dirty thoughts. It is a processing zone, not a hoarding zone. If you occupy your mind with negative thoughts, positive thoughts will exit your mind. A negative mind is a sick mind. A positive mind is a healthy mind. To keep your mind healthy, fill it with positive thoughts.
